The DV1680 portable DVD player from AudioVox lets you watch DVD movies or listen to MP3-CDs virtually anywhere. The 7-inch LCD can be adjusted to either 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio, while the included powerpack, a lithium battery, lasts for 3.5 hours of playback.
This shiny, metallic player processes sound and video via 24-bit/96 kHz sound and 10-bit video converters. It plays a range of media, including DVD-Video, VCD, SVCD, audio CD, MP3-CD, and CD-R.
This player features Dolby Virtual Surround; a 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack; and an LCD for chapter number, play time, and battery life info. DVD functions include multistory, multi-angle, index mark, parental lock, subtitle toggle, three-speed slow motion playback, fast forward, and three-speed backward play. Connections on the unit are composite-video output, S-video input, and A/V RCA jacks.
The player includes a credit-card-size remote, 3.5-hour lithium ion battery, DC power adapter, AC-to-DC switch adapter, cigarette lighter adapter, and cables for analog line-level and optical digital-audio outputs.

I did months of research before I finally plopped down the cash for this unit. I am a widescreen TV advocate, at the fact that this screen is 4:3 and not 16:9 worried me at first, but not after I saw it in operation! The picture clarity is wonderful, from even sharp angles. I am looking at in on my desk right now almost sideways, and I can still see the picture fine. It is a little heavy for it's size, but we're talking 5-8 pounds, so it's not like you need to order a back brace. The speakers are more than adequate, and more than likely you'll use headphones anyway. The supplies cables (optical audio, car adapter, ac adapter, A/V input/output) are just about all you'll need, unless you can take advantage of the S-Video output, which will require the purchase of a s-video cord that goes from $10 to $50. I frequently suffer from 'buyer's regret' after spending a good deal of money on home theater gadgets, but not this time. My wife was even impressed, and believe it or not, actually congratulated me on the purchase. I still haven't recovered from the shock. I could not reccommend this unit more. Good luck!!
