While the universal remote works great, the keypad buttons aren't 'intuitively' planned out. And while the vcr seems to have all the Panasonic features one wants, including all 3 recording speeds, the picture has that whispy, cloudy look in SLP speed and music sounds warbly. Also when watching tapes made with the vcr, a color bar runs up the TV screen's left side unless the vcr is moved away from other vcr's; however it won't do this with other tapes. I returned vcr and had same problems with exchanged model.
