I bought today a similar SkyScan .... I installed the batteries and didn't even bother to set the time: 10 minutes later the clock set date and time automatically! I live in the Sierra foothills, the worst place for the radio reception. Yet this thing tuned in without a problem, and it wasn't even midnight (the manual says that the best reception is between 12AM and 3 AM, but it worked for me at 6PM). So far so good.
