If you are looking for a cd rom with a scsi interface, this is the one to buy. It reads old and scratched disks with ease. I wasn't suprised to rip audio, using audiocatalyst, at 17X on inner tracks and 27X on outer tracks on a cd. What I was impressed to see NO speed erros using buffered burst to rip audio. Cd to Cd copying is excellent. Also when installing programs using the plextor its consistent speed is evident. Although there are many cd roms out there that claim 52x, 50x or even faster, they can't touch plextors real world numbers or reliablity. Bottom line is if you want the best cd rom currently avialable, buy the Ultraplex.
