Imagine now you don't have to sit in front of the computer for video conferencing. Imagine you can now walk around to show your new house to your parents while you are talking to them over the Internet. Imagine you can have your own motion detector located anywhere in your home. That's what this wireless QuickCam can do for you that the other can't. With the range of 75 feets, you can even go to the garage and show your friends how to fix the fuel pump in the car over the web! You can, of course, use your traditional video camera, record the video, transfer it to the computer, edit it, and then send it over the web' But now, with this wireless QuickCam, all you have to do is pick it up and start making your home video. Installation is easy. Put the battery in the camera (AC adapter is included too, useful while you are not taking the camera out with you). Plug in the receiver USB cable to the computer (the receiver is HUGE! It's almost as big as an external CD writer) and off you go! Overall, the data transmission is very stable while you are moving around. The picture quality is not the best when you compare it with the QuickCam Pro 3000 or 4000. And like all other QuickCams, ambient light is very important to get a good picture. The internal microphone is, I think, too sensitive. It picks up sound very easily, which means it also picks up unnecessary background noise (you can adjust the sensitivity, however). You can make video and take picture using the software or by simply pressing a button on the camera while you are away from your computer. Furthermore, the camera is auto-focus so you don't have to do anything unlike the other QuickCams. This camera, of course, is a bit expensive. So I would recommend it if you do need to use your camera away from your computer. Otherwise, the QuickCam Pro 3000 or 4000 is good enough. Overall, I give it five stars for the uniqueness (wireless), four stars for the picture and sound quality (not the best available), five stars for the ease of use (same software for all QuickCams). However, it is still not good enough to replace your traditional video camera by any means.
