I had purchased a Simple card a few months back for my Canon PowerShot G1 and the card worked fine. However, when I decided that the PowerShot G1 wasn't for me and I traded it in for a Nikon Coolpix 995--the Simple card kept giving me errors.
I called Nikon, thinking it was an issue with the camera, but they told me that Simple cards often have problems with their cameras due to the components that Simple uses to make their cards.
Nikon stated that Simple uses a lower grade 'controller' (whatever that is) than other top tier flash manufacturers such as SanDisk, Lexar, or Viking. This lower grade controller causes conflicts with not only Nikon cameras, but also other camera manufacturers. I don't remember all of the conflicts but they did state that Kodak, most newer Canon models, and even Agfa cameras have conflicts with the Simple cards.
I wanted to double-check the information, so I gave Simple a call. After being left on hold for 26 minutes, a technical support rep picked up and stated that they do indeed use a 'different' controller than Lexar or Viking and that he did not know what controller SanDisk uses. He put the icing on the cake when he stated that he could not give me my money back on my flash card because Simple does not guarantee their cards to be compatible with any 'specific' camera model.
Thanks to Amazon I found a great deal on a Viking card, confirmed it's compatibility with my 'specific' camera model using Amazon's Memory Finder tool, and purchased it the next day. The Viking card is working great in my digital camera--I think it is even faster than the Simple card!
