This is a great little usb hub. It is almost inevitable to not own a hub, with all of today's peripheral devices. I highly recommend this one. It is possible to run this either by bus power, supplied from the pc main board, or by an ac adapter. I am running mine by means of an ac adapter, although I find the adapter a little bulky itself. The greatest thing about this product is from the time you fire it up, you can virtually forget about it. I've had no problems, never had to reconnect and cables, nor have I had any problems with system shut downs/restarts.
