The DCM-200 is a two-way DOCSIS 1.0 CableLabs Certified Ethernet 10Base-T cable modem. It provides high-speed Internet access over a cable network and can connect to a computer via its Ethernet or USB port, which connects to an Ethernet card in a PC or laptop. The DCM-200 provides intelligent IP allocation management, which can be configured to work on a static or DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) network. For security purposes, the DCM-200 provides 56-bit DES (Data Encryption Standard) to encrypt data transactions for both upstream and downstream transmission.
The DCM-200 has a maximum downloading speed of 42.88 Mbps (256 QAM) and a maximum uploading speed of 10.2 Mbps (16 QAM). It comes with four easy-to-read LED indicators to show the connection status.
The DCM-200 is easy to install and is compatible with Windows 95, 98, 98 SE, NT 4.0, 2000, Me, XP, Mac OS, Unix, and other popular operating systems.

... It's easy to set-up with AT&T. I called AT&T and they gave me the website to register. It was done in less than 10 minutes and I was surfing faster than my leased RCA. I recommend this product since now it should take less than 8 months worth of lease to fully pay this modem. Beats leasing. Again, easy set-up if you have AT&T. No trouble with windows XP.
